DR. CHARLES TERRELL
Founder
Charles Terrell, Ed.D. is co-founder of Cross Creek Higher Ed Associates, a pro-bono higher educational advisory service promoting higher educational access and equity. A graduate of Colby College, Charles also holds a M.A. in African-American Studies from Boston University and an Ed.D. in Higher Education from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to co-founding Cross Creek, he served as Vice President for Diversity, Policy and Programs and Chief Diversity Officer at the Association of American Medical Colleges. He also enjoyed a twenty-five-year career in medical education at the Boston University Medical Center as Director of Student Financial Management, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, and Associate Dean for Student Affairs. He is a nationally recognized authority on higher educational access, diversity in higher and medical education and student financial assistance. He is a forty-year resident of the Town of Brookline and serves as a Brookline
Town Meeting member.
EBONY ELLISON
President
Ebony Ellison is a professional associate and co-founder Cross Creek Higher Ed Associates. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and went on to pursue her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy in. She completed her practicum at the DC Superior Court Child and Family Guidance Clinic but later decided to pursue other interests, thus changing career fields. While her academic and career path has evolved over time, her passion has always focused on guiding students and helping them navigate through school into higher education. Ebony hosts a variety of college and career workshops and speaking engagements throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Her community activism has helped hundreds of students of all ages and backgrounds gain access to internships, apprenticeships, scholarships, jobs, professional career programs, and financial aid resources. Ebony has been actively serving her community and beyond for over 15 years.
Her personal motto is “Every year is merely a chapter in your life story; it may not be the beginning nor the end, so take advantage of each opportunity and learn as much as you can along the way.”
